It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Christmas is a candlelight service … carolers and caroling … decorating fresh baked cookies … gathering with family … buying presents (except for the shopping) … wrapping presents (or asking one of my daughters to help me) … the children’s choir at church … mistletoe and holly … my red flannel shirt … eggnog … hot chocolate … Ebeneazor Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, and Tiny Tim … decorating the house … The Fourth Wiseman … trimming a tree with lights and shiny ornaments … driving through neighborhoods to see how others have decorated their homes … playing games … family football games … stockings over the fireplace … nativity scenes – especially a “living” nativity that includes a camel … sledding … snowball fights … building snowmen … a toasty fire … sending and receiving cards and family newsletters from friends past and present flung all over the world … watching movies … It’s a Wonderful Life … Christmas Vacation … White Christmas (and hearing Bing and Danny sing Sisters) … Home Alone and Home Alone 2 … Elf … Elvis crooning It’ll Be a Blue Christmas Without You … plus playing Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, the Percy Faith Orchestra, Mannheim Steamroller, and other favorites of the season … The Hallelujah Chorus … lighting an Advent Candle each week at church … and, of course, singing great Christmas hymns …Silent Night … O Come All Ye Faithful … our annual neighborhood party … wise men … Mary and Joseph … a Heavenly Choir … shepherds … a Star … reading Luke 2 … food and more food … most of all reflecting on the birth of Baby … the reason for the season.
Christmas for me really is the most wonderful time of the year! Is it any wonder I’ve always loved creating Christmas books!

Great thinkers and writers reflect on Christmas.
